Healing Ministry Saves Lives
Shaneen regularly prays with people who suffer from physical, spiritual and emotional illnesses. Here is a story of the fruit of her healing ministry.
"Its been about four years now since I started to realise I could have a personal relationship with God through Jesus," said Elizabeth. "I grew up around Christianity and was taken to church ever since I was born until my late teenage years, when I abandoned church and my belief in God."
Elizabeth said that she felt distant from God. "My hollow belief was built on guilt," she said. That made it easy to walk away and follow a more worldly path. "My life was the cliché of 'sex, drugs and rock and roll.' That led to an eating disorder, broken relationships, lack of confidence and depression."
She happened to go to church one day. "I fell on my knees and wept. I couldn't stop crying. Something amazing was happening. The spirit of God ignited within me, and I decided to become whole and allow God to work in me to achieve that."
Shortly after that, Elizabeth attending a Shaneen Clarke event in London to appease her cousin. As soon as she entered the room, peace enveloped her. She asked for prayer so she could learn how to pray.
"I stood there looking at everyone as they prayed asking God to show me how to pray and to show me His super natural power. Suddenly beside me and behind me I felt an awesome presence. I believe an angel who was two heads taller than me placed his hands on my shoulders. I walked out of that meeting with my head held high in Christ and with that angel."
About three years later, Elizabeth contracted a rare illness called Gillian Barre Syndrome. This beautiful young woman was paralysed and had no feeling anywhere. Her mother and other members of her family did everything from feeding her to bathing her.
"I shut down emotionally," she said. "My mind became numb and I could not speak. It was during those moments as I lay in hospital, when I was quiet, that I questioned myself."
She wondered what she would say to God about her life if she died in that hospital room. Had she delivered the message He had given her to deliver? What had been the purpose of her short life?
"God raised an army of prayer warriors around me. My name was raised up to Christ from every nation. That's when I gave up my fight and gave it all to God. God used the people around me to do what needed to be done to heal me. And God delivered me to health. Today.... I live. And as you can imagine, I see life through different lenses. I praise our Lord Jesus Christ for every breath that I take and promise to deliver the message he has given me."
Elizabeth has recovered. Her life used to be fast and hard. She worked long hours and ran around as if there was no tomorrow. But now she realises that life is not about going fast. It's about going slowly enough to realise the blessings that God is showering on us in every precious moment.
"I could not smile nine months ago," she said. "Now I praise God for the simple gift of a smile."
Elizabeth clearly has released God's power in her life.
